The United Nations has adopted 17 sustainable development goals for eliminating poverty and building a more resilient planet. Every year, 12th December will be celebrated as the 365体育投注 Universal health coverage day. The day is marked with an aim to raise awareness of the need for strong and resilient health system and universal health coverage.The goal of Universal Health Coverage is to ensure that all people obtain the health services without suffering financial hardship (WHO, 2019).
In this regard, the Department of Community Health Nursing, MCON, MAHE in association with the Primary Health Centre, Hirebettu and Panchayat Athrady- Hirebettu organized a sociodrama on the theme “Aarogya yojane balasi, Jeevana utthamagolisi” on 12th December, 2019 at 5pm near Athrady Bus stop.
The programme began with an invocation song by Mr. Sharan Kumar & group, 4th year BSc Nursing students. A welcome speech was given by Ms. Vinslet Alisha, 4th year BSc Nursing student, which was followed by a sociodrama by the 4th year BSc Nursing students, led by Ms. Charvi Sharma.
A sociodrama on the theme “Aarogya yojane balasi, Jeevana utthamagolisi” was enacted through songs, dance and narrations about the significance of universal health coverage, the special groups who are in need of health care services, various government health schemes such as Ayushman Bharath, Aarogya Karnataka (ABARK), Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana, Mathrushree, Rashtriya Bala Swasthya Karyakrama, Rashtriya Kishore Swasthya Karyakram, Rashtreeya Aarogya Nidhi. The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Ms. Sneharaj, 4th year BSc Nursing student. Ms. Benita Malvi, 4th year BSc Nursing student was the master of the ceremony.
General public about 60 people observed the program. The public expressed that the program was very useful & informative. Mrs. Reshma R Kotian, Lecturer, Dept. of Community Health Nursing, MCON, MAHE, Mrs. Sumangala, Junior Health Assistant, PHC, Hirebettu, Mr. Sathyananda Nayak, Ex-Taluk Panchayat Member were present during the program.
