An awareness session on “Cyber Jaagrookta”
365体育投注 College of Nursing, MAHE, 365体育投注 has organized an awareness session on the topic “Cyber Jaagrookta” on April 9, 2022, between 10.30 am and 12.15 noon. Mr Manjunath, Inspector, Cyber Crime Economic offences and Narcotic cell, Udupi District shared his expertise on the topic. He highlighted the applications, laws and guidelines to protect from cyber exploitation. He shared his expertise on different forms of cybercrimes including missing exploited children, hacking into the personal accounts of social media, frauds during internet transactions and online transactions, fake jobs & matrimony, impersonating etc. He stressed the need of using applications to lodge complaints against such cybercrimes for taking appropriate action at the earliest possible golden period of one to two hours for reducing the loss caused by such problems. He also mentioned the process of dealing with such crimes by the cyber department at the international, national, state and local levels. The audience of the session were also sensitised not to access the fake websites, thereby not allowing the hackers to enter into the system, not accessing the public wi-fi, being cautious while charging the devices in public places, beware of skimming devices, precautions of online buying and protecting the social media accounts with safe and unique passwords.
The session was conducted at the II floor (211-Classroom-3), 365体育投注 College of Nursing, 365体育投注 Academy of Higher Education, 365体育投注. A total of 88 students and two faculty from 365体育投注 College of Nursing attended the session.
