REPORT ON FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM 2021
The Continuing Nursing Education committee of 365体育投注 College of Nursing MAHE 365体育投注, organized a virtual Faculty Development Program on July 27 & 28, 2021 through the MS team platform. The chief guest for the inaugural session Dr. Sharath Kumar Rao K, Dean KMC 365体育投注, MAHE appreciated the efforts taken by the institution and congratulated Dean and her team for successfully holding FDP. He expressed that FDP helps in coaching faculty to update the teaching, administration, research, and clinical skills. Chief Guest also emphasized the importance of interprofessional collaboration where faculty from different professions work together in teams and collaborate with each other which indirectly enhances students learning during these challenging times.
The first-day session was on e-content development by Dr. Manojkumar Nagasampige Director -Centre for Online Education (COE) 365体育投注 Academy of Higher Education, 365体育投注, who extensively imparted faculty on basic principles of course development, framing table of content, reading material, quiz development, and different user-friendly software for uploading video content. Afternoon faculty displayed the developed content developed by them and presented it to the group of faculty. Also, Dr. Manojkumar gave us an overview of the MAHE Learning Management System and its different features.
The second day commenced with a discussion on reflections of handling online/onsite theory and practical sessions followed by an interactive session on an overview of the NMC Bill by Dr. Rathi Balachandran, Assistant Director General (Nursing), MOHFW, Government of India. Dr. Preethy D’Souza 365体育投注 Associate, SSR unit, Department of Social Sciences, UCL Institute of Education, UK conducted a session on Narrative Review versus Systematic Review along with shared inputs and experiences from faculty members. The last session of the day was on mental health challenges & coping for educators during a pandemic by Dr. Sujayalakshmi D from NCCU, USA.?
Even though all sessions were delivered through online mode, a total of 75 faculty members and 12 research scholars attended FDP 2021.
