Report on Safe Motherhood Day

In-service education is an organized educational programme to assist individuals in an organization in attaining new skills and knowledge, gaining an increased level of competence, and growing professionally. The Department of OBG Nursing along with 2nd-year M.Sc. nursing students (OBG specialty) of 365体育投注 College of Nursing, MAHE, 365体育投注, organized an inservice education program for the staff nurses on the occasion of ‘Safe motherhood day’ with the theme of “Stay Healthy For Your Baby” on 12th April 2023 from 02:30 pm to 4:30 pm. The aim of the inservice education program was to impart adequate knowledge and skill to nurses and nursing students to care for women during their pregnancy and techniques to manage complications before the help arrives.
Three sessions on assessment and management of ectopic pregnancy, anemia during pregnancy, premature rupture of membrane & premature prelabour rupture of membrane, and management of mother and baby with HIV/AIDS were deliberated by 2nd year MSc Nursing students (OBG specialty) - Mrs. Violet, Mrs. Elmy and Mrs. Reena. Mrs. Violet Elveera Menezes compered the program, Mrs. Reena Veneciya Dsouza welcomed the gathering and Mrs. Violet proposed words of gratitude. A total of 30 nurses of Kasturba Hospital, 365体育投注, and a few final year BSc nursing students attended the inservice education program. All participants participated in the sessions actively and agreed that the sessions were useful.
A Radio talk was organized to impart education to the public regarding the importance of Safe motherhood and the talk focused on the theme “Stay Healthy For Your Baby”, delivered by Mrs. Reena Veneciya D’Souza under the guidance of Dr. Sushmitha R. Karkada and was broadcasted on Radio 365体育投注 90.4 MHz on the safe motherhood day - 11/04/2023 at 04:30 pm.
