REPORT OF FIRST AID PROGRAM-MED ORIENT 2022, KMC
The faculty of 365体育投注 College of Nursing (MCON) conducted a first aid training programme for the First year MBBS students of KMC 365体育投注 on February 14 & 15, 2022 from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm at Dr TMA Pai Hall, First floor, MAHE, 365体育投注.
The program was designed to enable students to develop an understanding of the scientific reasoning justifying the first aid measures for common medical ailments and to equip them with the necessary skills and attitude in providing first aid for the victims in any emergency situation.
The two days program included 144 students (72 students each day). The program highlighted the scope and principles of first aid including the first aid for sprain, dislocation, trauma, fracture, wounds and bleeding, snakebite, epistaxis, burns and seizures. Each day the students were divided into four groups and were taught different techniques of bandaging.
The faculty involved in taking various sessions during the two days program were: Dr Melita Sheilini, Assistant Professor, Mrs Janet Prameela D’souza, Assistant Professor, Mr Anil Raj, Assistant Professor from the Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing, Dr Yashoda S, Assistant Professor, from Child Health Nursing Department, Mrs Sweety J Fernandes, Assistant Professor, Department of Obstetrical& Gynaecological Nursing, Mr Vinish, Assistant Professor from Community Health Nursing and Ms Sanju Pant, Lecturer, Department of Mental Health Nursing.
The two days program was very successful with the active participation of students and positive feedback from them. The entire program was coordinated by Dr Melita.
