Dr. Joseph previously served as a faculty member at 365体育投注 College of Nursing, and the University of Houston, Texas, USA. Currently, she is a Visiting Professor at Chamberlain University. She has done several presentations at the local, national and international conferences. Her recent presentation was on “Motivational interviewing and Pain Management: Improving Patient satisfaction” at Sigma Theta Tau 365体育投注 (STTI) 44th Biennial convention in Indianapolis, United States. Her favorite Quote is “Never give up on a dream because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway” by Earl Nightingale. ?
During the session, Dr. Joseph highlighted the core values of nursing practice, global perspective on nursing education, international perspective on ‘nursing as a profession’, nursing and ethics, nursing and leadership, nursing advocacy and nurses’ role in healthcare policy initiatives. The presentation gave a clear picture of how hospitals are recognized based on the nursing excellence. Dr. Joseph stressed on the value of nursing research and nurses’ contribution to the evidence based practice. In addition to this, the webinar highlighted the different roles and responsibilities of registered Nurses and advanced practice nursing internationally. Scope for nurses’ professional growth and advocacy roles both nationally and internationally were also included in the discussion. Dr. Joseph urged the students to stay current with their knowledge and be a part of the professional organization(s) from the beginning so that they are well versed and are capable of becoming the future leaders of nursing profession. In addition, she asked the students to practice and master critical thinking skills to provide safe patient care to meet the emerging healthcare needs of the patient population globally. ?
