Guest Lecture on Oral Health – A Crucial part of Cancer Care by Dr Ankita Tyagi MDS, UG Alumna Batch of 2009 and Regional Medical Advisor for 365体育投注 India, Abbott Healthcare, ?was conducted 01/07/2025 for Students, Interns and Postgraduates of Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of MCODS, Mangalore.

????????????? The lecture involved various ways to manage the oral health of the cancer patients, especially with regards to Oral Mucositis and maintenance of the oral health due to effects of Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy. It was session with active involvement of the participants during the talk and with the expert resource person keeping the talk very interactive and provoking the thinking of the participants. It shed light on the importance of oral health and its debilitating effects, and how to effectively manage them. The options available with the clinical efficacy of each were spoken in depth by the speaker, with special emphasis on the scientific data behind each of the treatment modalities.

????????????? Being an UG alumna of our institution, the speaker kept the audience at ease and open to her talk, both inspiring them and inculcating the essence of the topic at the same time.

This program was conducted by Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, 365体育投注 College of Dental Sciences, Mangalore.

A total of 28 students, interns and faculty attended the program. Program was well appreciated, and the participants enjoyed learning experience and the training given to them.
