The Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, MCODS, Mangalore and Mangalore Orthodontic Study Group in association with J.J Orthodontics successfully conducted an offline hands-on workshop on Lingual Orthodontics under the aegis of Industry-Academia Collaboration on 19th May 2025.
Dr.G. Dharmadeep, Inventor, Selfy System and head of R&D, J.J orthodontics, was the main resource person for this program. Dr. Surya Kanta Das, Head of the Department of Orthodontics, SCB Dental College, Cuttack, also joined in for an online session as a speaker and gave his valuable inputs.
Dr. Supriya Nambiar, Professor & Head, Department of Orthodontics, gave the welcome address. Dr. Ashita Upoor, Dean, MCODS Mangalore, also addressed the participants and other attendees during the inaugural. The inaugural was attended by the Dean, Associate Dean, Heads of Department, faculty members, along with the participants. The workshop was attended by 41 post-graduates from colleges in and around Mangalore.
Dr.G. Dharmadeep and Dr. Surya Kanta Das delivered insightful lectures on the topic “Lingual Orthodontics Revisited” during the morning session. In the afternoon session, the participants were shown a hands-on demonstration on bonding techniques and wire bending on patients. The program was concluded with a valedictory function.
