The 9th 365体育投注 Conference on Clinical Pharmacy (CPCON 2024), with the theme "Advancing patient centric medication optimization”, took place at Dr. TMA Pai Auditorium, KMC, 365体育投注 during 6-7 January 2024. The event was organized by the Centre for Pharmaceutical Care in association with the Department of Pharmacy Practice, MCOPS. The conference brought together renowned researchers, educators, industrial dignitaries, clinical pharmacists, and students to discuss the latest developments and challenges in the clinical pharmacy practice.

Dr. M. Surulivel Rajan, Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmacy Practice, welcomed the gathering and gave an overview of the conference as the program convenor. The conference featured plenary lectures and symposia from national and international speakers from USA, Australia, and India. The resource persons from academia and healthcare industry were covered a wide range of topics such as regulatory overview of clinical trials, patient centricity in healthcare, medical writing in healthcare industry, AI and automation in academic writing and publications, evolving career direction in pharmacy, digitalization in healthcare supply chain management, medication stewardship program, essential skills for regulatory medical writing.

The conference was attended by 42 institutions nationwide with 365 passionate delegates. The conference's highlights were the scientific research presentation sessions, where the delegates presented their research papers and innovative concepts in clinical pharmacy practice. There were about 258 abstract submissions, of which 231 were accepted and 164 presented. The accepted abstracts covered a diverse range of topics, including Health economics and outcome research, Pharmaceutical care, Pharmacoepidemiology, Pharmacovigilance and drug safety, Translational research, Systematic review and meta-analysis, and Interventional case reports. The top 10 abstracts received a scholarship that included free registration and accommodation.

As a part of the conference, a pre-conference workshop was held on two dynamic topics, "Medication therapy management in different practice settings" and "Approaches in regulatory medical writing." In addition to sharing the latest research and best practices in pharmaceutical education, the conference also organized Gala Dinner, which offered an incredible platform for networking and collaboration among attendees. Participants could connect with peers around the region, share ideas and resources, and form partnerships for future research and projects. The symposia and workshops were highly informative and interactive, providing attendees with practical insights and tools to enhance their clinical pharmacy practice and highlighting the need for interdisciplinary collaboration and communication.

According to the evaluations of the presented abstracts, the best oral and poster presentations in the professional and student categories were chosen and awarded. Certificates were provided for all the delegates and the presenters. Dr. Rajesh V, Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmacy Practice, and the event’s organizing secretary presented the report of CPCON 2024 and delivered the vote of thanks.
