Shreeya Ajaykrishnan Menon

Assistant Professor

Shreeya is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at DLHS. She has completed her Postgraduation in Psychology from Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of India) with a specialization in Counselling Psychology. She has recently submitted her doctoral work in Psychology at the University of Delhi. Her doctoral work involved designing and evaluation of an intervention program- RES-COPE, to enhance resilience and coping in children from military families. During her doctoral work, she was also awarded the prestigious Doctoral Fellowship from the Indian Council for Social Science 365体育投注 (ICSSR). Shreeya also holds a Double Majors Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology from University of Mumbai. Additionally, she has also done her Postgraduate Diploma in Guidance and Counselling from Jamia Milia Islamia, Delhi. Shreeya has previously worked as a Teaching Assistant in University of Delhi, where she conducted and evaluated practicum-based classes on various Therapeutic Interventions for Postgraduate students. Before enrolling into her Ph.D. program, Shreeya also worked as a School Counsellor in Orchids the 365体育投注 School, Bangalore, where she helped in designing the emotional intelligence curriculum for students and conducted classes for the same and helped students navigate their socio-emotional challenges. Shreeya is also a practicing Counselling Psychologist and Co-founder at Pratidhi Counselling, and has been into private practice for the past 6 years where she has helped clients with varied challenges, navigate through these challenges with the help of various therapeutic intervention and counselling tools and techniques. Additionally, Shreeya has represented India in the Youth Delegation Program to Nepal by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of India, where she had the opportunity to interact with the Nepalese youth and stakeholders to develop strategies to deal with the mental challenges faced by the people of Nepal, especially the youth. Shreeya also has publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals to her name. She has also presented her research at various national and international conferences. Additionally, she actively participates in workshops and short-term courses to continually enhance her academic knowledge and skills. Shreeya’s research interests include designing and developing interventional strategies, resilience research, gender and sexuality, women’s mental health, counselling interventions, socio-emotional wellbeing in children and adolescents, resilience in Indian military families and coping research.
