M. Tech Construction Engineering Management - Overview

The Master’s program in Construction Engineering and Management is aimed at shaping the managerial skills of engineering graduates. The course prepares student to become decision makers and strategists, fulfilling production, commercial and technological demands.

With this program, students can acquire knowledge in management science, project management, decision and risk analysis, information technology, finance, lean manufacturing, optimization, supply chain management and various other functional areas of management. Students also gain practical experience in real-world projects.

Students have access to various well-established labs such as project management lab, construction material lab, and quality practice.? Also, students have exposure to software such as Building Information Model (BIM) and Project Management Software. There is a well maintained departmental library which is also accessible to students.

Program Educational Objectives:

  • PEO1 : Graduates will be able to apply knowledge of Construction Technology and Project Management in executing Civil Engineering projects
  • PEO2 : Graduates will be able to contribute towards research and innovation with available resources and tools to meet contemporary societal challenges
  • PEO3 : Graduates will be sensitive towards ethical values and social responsibilities; display effective communication skills and inculcate lifelong learning
  • PEO4 : Graduates of the program will be proficient in technical skills to establish competent enterprise

Program Outcome:

  • PO-1 : An ability to independently carry out research /investigation and development work to solve practical problems
  • PO-2 : An ability to write and present a substantial technical report/document
  • PO-3 : Able to demonstrate a degree of mastery over the area as per the specialization of the program. The mastery should be at a level higher than the requirements in the appropriate bachelor program
  • PO-4: Able to Integrate innovative Construction Management tools and models in construction practice to optimize the use of resources to meet the present and future demands of society at large
  • PO-5 : Able to conduct systematic research, draw up appropriate experimental procedures and setup, analyse and interpret the research outcomes to further the frontiers of Construction Engineering and Management domain
  • PO-6 : Able to apply modern developments in Construction Engineering and Management through lifelong learning
