The "Psychiatry Insight 2024" event, organized by the Department of Psychiatry at Kasturba Medical College (KMC) Mangalore, was held on November 6th and 7th, 2024, under the theme "Mental Health in the Digital Era: Navigating New Frontiers." The event aimed to explore the intersections of mental health and digital advancements, focusing on the ethical, legal, and practical challenges of digital mental health.
The inauguration ceremony took place on November 7th, with Mr. Anupam Agrawal, Commissioner of Police, Mangaluru City, as the Chief Guest. Dr. Keshava Pai, Head of the Department of Psychiatry and Organizing Chairperson, extended a warm welcome to the distinguished guest and participants.
The conference included a diverse range of sessions and workshops. Topics such as "Telepsychiatry: Guidelines and Protocols" by Dr. Ravindra Munoli and "Recent Advances in Digital Interventions for Mental Health" by Dr. Mohan Sunil Kumar were highlights of the morning sessions. The afternoon featured engaging workshops, including "Digital Innovations in Addiction Psychiatry" by Dr. Prabhat Chand, providing participants with hands-on experience in leveraging technology for enhanced mental health care.
