The Finnova Club (Finance Club) organized a movie screening on 19th September, 2024 to initiate students to the workings of financial and capital markets in an entertaining and fun manner.

The movie was a biographical comedy based on the Game Stop company short squeeze where retail investors via social media pushed up the stock price of a gaming company to prevent a short-sell by a big firm.

The movie was highly informative about the vagaries of the stock market and the sudden changes in fortune that can occur by investing in the capital markets. It introduced students to some key financial concepts and how the stock market operates. The event received positive feedback from the participants.
