Evaluation of the effect of anti-hyperglycaemic and hypolipidaemic thiazolidinone derivatives on phosphprylation of AMPK, Akt/PKB and MAP kinase in cultured myotubes and adipocytes.
2014-01-08 Shetty Priya Sudhakar Mallika (M Pharm Part-II)
We have developed a few nicotinyl thiazolidinone derivatives in our lab which have shown significant anti-hyperglycaemic and hypolipidaemic and anti-inflammatory activities. The purpose of this research work is to determine whether these molecules act by activating one or more of the following mediators of metabolic pathways - AMPK, Akt/PKB and MAP Kinase, in cultured L6 myotubes and 3T3 L1 adipocytes.
